【End】let’s enjoy a winter walk in Satoyama to our heart’s delight!
Let’s take a walk in snowshoes over powder snow in the Japanese Satoyama countryside.
You will see lots of animal footprints in the snow. It’s fun to follow the footprints of rabbits,
roll down the slope of fluffy fresh snow, or traverse deep into the wetland and forest areas
that cannot be entered during the summer.
You will be accompanied by our full-service instructor.
Have a famous “Kuriyama Ham-burger”for lunch!
It is a very popular burger with large pieces of juicy bacon and additive-free pork sausage.
In the afternoon, you will visit a traditional Japanese sake maker, the Kobayashi Sake Brewery, which has been in business for 130 years.
You can enjoy Japanese free sake tasting.
Sake lovers cannot miss it! At the end of the tour, enjoy hot spring bathing and warm your chilled body.
You can also enjoy an outdoor bath.

The Kobayashi Sake Brewery
The Kobayashi Sake Brewery is an established brewery founded in 1878; it is representative of Hokkaido.
Its founder, Yonesaburo Kobayashi, had the ambition of making Hokkaido famous for its sake, so he created the brand‘Kita no Nishiki,’which means“northern brocade.” On the premises covering 3.3 hectares are as many as 18 warehouses and buildings built of brick and Sapporo soft stone in Western-style architecture.
―Thirteen of them including warehouses and a residence are listed as national tangible cultural assets.
You can enjoy sake tasting as well as shopping there.
Southern Sorachi Area
Southern Sorachi is blessed with vast agricultural land, and the people here live surrounded by abundant nature and farmland as well as snow in winter.
The region is adjacent to the economic zone of Hokkaido.
In the past, Southern Sorachi had a thriving coal industry and a developed railway network.
The region’s culture and tradition has been cultivated over time.
Southern Sorachi is attractive, not with something special but with the rustic daily life people have built here to date, which can be called“authentic Hokkaido.”
